Dr. Andrew Yi serves as the Dean and Professor of Finance at Sungkyunkwan University’s Graduate School of Business (SKK GSB). Since joining SKK GSB in 2007, he has held several leadership roles, including Vice Dean for MBA Programs and Faculty Chair of the Executive MBA Program.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Yi held key roles at leading firms such as National Economic Research Associates (NERA), A.T. Kearney, Inc., and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He earned his BA in Economics from the University of Chicago and received his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Finance from Columbia Business School.
Dr. Yi’s research focuses on critical topics in corporate finance and mangement, including the risk factors driving firm performance and equity prices, strategies to mitigate business cycle risks, and the role of managerial incentives in corporate disclosure practices. His work has been published in leading academic journals spanning finance, accounting, and management.
An award-winning educator, Dr. Yi teaches courses on the global economy, financial markets, and corporate finance. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous accolades for teaching excellence and is recognized for his unwavering dedication to mentoring the next generation of business leaders.
