The Association of Korean Management Scholars (AKMS) and Maeil Business Newspaper, Korea's leading business daily, have selected Jung-Hoon Han, Professor of Management at SKK GSB of Sungkyunkwan University, as the recipient of the 2025 Young Scholar Award.
This year marks the 8th year since the Young Scholar Award, which was established in 2018. AKMS and Maeil Business Newspaper commented, "Professor Han has researched how factors, including status and reputation, affect firm strategies and governance in a multifaceted way, grounded in social evaluation theory. His research will provide sharp insights into the ever-evolving business environment."
"It is a great honor to receive this award." Professor Han said.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to advancing the conversation around how firms are socially evaluated. I see this recognition as a reminder to keep striving for more meaningful research," he stated.
He gained recognition as his research papers were published in top management journals, such as the Academy of Management Journal and the Strategic Management Journal, last year. In his research, he revealed how media and public interest in corporate misconduct are determined and shed light on when misconduct by high-status firms escalates into scandals.
