On Monday, April 7, Samil PwC announced that Professor Choi A-reum (Accounting) of our university was selected as the ‘Korean Accounting Association Samil Accounting Corporation Distinguished Professor’ (Samil Distinguished Professor) in the research division. The term is from July 2025 to June 2027. Samil Distinguished Professor is sponsored by Samil PwC and selected by the Korean Accounting Association.

The Samil Distinguished Professor appointment ceremony was held at the headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on this day, and Professor Choi A-reum of our university was selected for the research category, and Professor Yoon Tae-hwa of Gachon University was selected for the service category. The ‘Samil Distinguished Professor’ system is a social contribution activity that Samil PwC has been conducting with the Korean Accounting Association since 2003. In order to advance Korean accounting, it selects current professors with outstanding achievements and activities in the three categories of research, writing, and service, and provides a certain amount of research funds.

Professor Choi A-reum, who was selected for the research division, has accumulated research achievements by publishing many papers in excellent international academic journals in the field of accounting, and has been highly evaluated for expanding academic influence through active academic activities. Professor Choi is an editorial member of domestic and international academic journals such as Accounting Forum and Management Research, and is actively participating in building an international research network by continuously presenting research papers at major international academic conferences such as the Korean Accounting Association, the American Accounting Association, and the European Accounting Association.
