The Department of Global Management held a summer contest for one month from 3M and 2020.7.13 to 2020.8.10 (Mon).
The 3M X SKKU GBA Summer Contest was organized by the 3M B2C Business Group (CBG), which includes Professor Kim Young-han, head of the Global Management Department, and Cho Hyun-min, a graduate of the Global Management Department, for students who were unable to engage in various activities due to the Corona 19 incident.
It is an industry-academic cooperation project in which participating students plan sales promotion plans and marketing programs for the 3M product line by directly planning sales strategies and budget estimates for actual products and new products, and it is an activity that is implemented to help foster students' actual competencies.
Starting with the kickoff meeting, the 3M X SKKU GBA Summer Contest was held in the preliminary round of 10 teams each under three themes, and a total of six teams, two of the 30 preliminary teams, advanced to the finals. The finalists received feedback, including marketing strategies, through interim feedback and then proceeded with the final presentation with the complementary output.
The final round of the 3M X GBA marketing contest was held at the 3M Korea headquarters on August 10 (Monday), and 12 3M employees, including Ham Byung-sun, head of the B2C business division, and Kim Hak-kyun, vice dean of the business school, reviewed the students' presentations by subject. Due to the limited number of offline attendees, other 3M staff and members of the final team participated in the finals in real time through Zoom.
"Because we had to set up marketing strategies for our products before the launch of the Korean market, we had a difficult time getting a target, but we also had a much more challenging approach. In particular, carrying out tasks on digital marketing strategies has led to more careful viewing of digital advertising, which is common in everyday life. Thanks to this, it was a good time to think about my position as both an ad collector and a planner."
