Sungkyunkwan University held an award ceremony on the 18th (Friday) at the 600th Anniversary Memorial Hall to select the best online instructors for the first semester of 2020. The selection criteria selected a total of 20 instructors, taking into account the quality of lectures, communication with students, and satisfaction with students' lectures. On that day, President Shin Dong-ryul, Vice President Yoo Hong-joon, and Kim Dong-wook, the head of the school's affairs office, attended the event to deliver appreciation plaques and souvenirs.
Professor Oh Jong-min (Principal: Financial Management) was selected from the business school. Professor Oh Jong-min said, "Finance management is one of the subjects that various types of students take, as there are not only students from business schools but also students from other departments who double major. It was important not to let these diverse students feel left out, especially under non-face-to-face classes. As part of this effort, the e-mail answer policy was shared during the semester so that any questions they asked could be answered within a maximum of 24 hours. The most important part of this semester was to answer students' questions on weekends so that everyone could feel that they were being warmly cared for during difficult and difficult times. Maybe that's why this semester was like a 24-hour full-time call center.
"More than anything, I felt the most rewarding in that I received good reviews from my students. Although the class was conducted online due to Corona 19, students actively participated in the lecture, so I was able to enjoy the lecture. I will prepare harder for the class and give a more satisfying lecture.
At the ceremony, President Shin Dong-ryul told outstanding instructors, "To improve the quality of university education, we need the professors' unremitting efforts and passion. "Excellent instructors who identify what needs are through constant communication with students and approach them first are the main pillars of our university's development," he said.
