- Implementation of the Student Success Scholarship System for Excellent Master/Excellent Doctor
In order to train outstanding global researchers, this school's business school (Dean Kim Yong-joon) declared a 『Roadmap for Student Success at Graduate School of Business』 and announced that it will provide the first way to obtain multiple degrees through education (one-year our school and one-year UofSC) by signing an academic exchange agreement with the University of South Carolina. Also, a scholarship system for excellent master’s and doctorate course students will be newly established to exempt all of the tuition fees for the first semester for excellent master’s degree fostering student (within five students per semester), and a system will be implemented to provide 2 to 3 million won in scholarships per month for two semesters (with master's degrees) or one semester (doctor's degrees).
‘Student Success Roadmap for Excellent Graduate School Students’, which was recently declared by the business school, is regarded as an unconventional system in that it presented the first way for a student selected as an excellent master’s degree student to go to a doctoral degree, to study and research at this school and UofSC, and to obtain multiple degrees for the first time in a general graduate school.
To this, business school selected excellent graduate students by comprehensively evaluating their potential research capabilities, potential for development, and creativity, and on June 1, they invited academic advisers and scholarship students to hold a scholarship ceremony and a meeting. The event was attended by Kim Yong-joon, president of the business school, professor Kim Young-han, and Park Ki-woo, as well as Lee Sun-hyuk (a master's degree student, a major professor: Kim Young-han) and Kim Han-min (a Ph.D. student, an advisor: Park Ki-woo).
Lee Sun-hyuk, who was selected as an excellent master’s degree scholarship student, expressed his ambition, saying, “It is true that I am very happy to be selected as the first scholarship student, but I feel a lot of pressure” and “I want to pursue my studies and research in the future and become a globally competitive scholar, and then become a professor at my alma mater”
Kim Yong-joon, president of the business school, who hosted the meeting, encouraged students and presented them with certificates of scholarship. And he said, "We will support excellent students to focus more on academic research through the first scholarship system for excellent master/excellent doctor at the business school, and we hope that scholarship students will grow into talented people.”
