The Confucian Culture Research Institute (Director Kim Do-il) of Confucian University (President Kim Dong-min) conducted a special lecture on visiting scholars by Professor Masayuki Sato at Sungkyunkwan University's 600th Anniversary Hall 10504 on February 23, 26 and 27, 2024.
This event was planned as part of a teaching cluster program to contribute to the academic and academic succession generations through the establishment of a virtuous cycle of education and research while actively exchanging academic exchanges with excellent foreign scholars. At this event, Professor Sato conducted three lectures on issues in the history of advanced thought (Did Han Fei Tzu's view of humanity come from Xun Zi's voice theory?) the establishment of the academic field of modern Eastern philosophy (The birth of the academic field of Eastern philosophy in modern Japan), and the literary and ideological characteristics of Korea's "Three Kingdoms History" (literary and ideological characteristics of Kim Bu-sik's "Three Kingdoms History"). In addition, the second lecture was conducted by experts, including the presentation of Professor Kevin Lam. In this presentation, Professor Kevin Lam discussed the connection between Kitaro Nishida, an important scholar of modern Japanese philosophy, and the Confucian ethics and moral sensitists, focusing on the subject of emotion.
Through three lectures covering the fields of Eastern philosophy and ideological history, it became a meaningful academic venue where students could learn the problem consciousness and methodology of research, as well as the insights and insights of ideological history. In particular, it was a valuable opportunity for students to intensively experience overseas scholarship and exchange over three days. In addition, the event, which was held three times, became a venue for international academic exchange by actively participating in discussions not only students and emerging researchers but also professors from various schools in Korea.
