Dr. Adam Castor is an Assistant Professor of Management at SKK GSB. His research focuses on perceptions of corporate and technological relatedness, particularly across countries. His research helps uncover the crucial role that relatedness, categories, and national institutions play in determining patterns of informational spillovers across companies as well as the evaluation of corporate strategic actions including mergers, acquisitions and alliance deals. Dr. Castor’s research also investigates the factors that affect stakeholder perceptions of technological relatedness and how these factors ultimately affect the realized value of innovation and intellectual property.
Dr. Castor teaches Negotiations and Cross-Cultural Management to MBAs and Professional MBAs. He received his Ph.D. in Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a M.S. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics & Economics from the University of Wyoming. Prior to pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Castor worked at the Becker Center (now the Becker Friedman Institute) at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business conducting economics research. He also worked as an economic consultant in Boston supporting healthcare litigation.
