- Professor Ahn Hee jun appointed as new president of Korean Securities Association
- Korean Securities Association have appointed SKKU Business School Professor Ahn Hee-jun(57) as 37th president at a last meeting. The new president had graduated from Gangwon National University, and earned Business M.A & finance Ph.D at Penn State University. The former City University of Hong Kong and Sukmyung Women's University Professor is now in SKKU, and has published a number of papers on research in the fields of market microstructure and investment theory in domestic and foreign journals. - Professor Kim Andrea was appointed as 'Young Fellowship' Professor
- Professor Kim Andrea was appointed as 'Young Fellowship' Professor. Professor Kim wrote 13 SSCI-level journals and on SCOPUS as the , and six of them were posted on International A-level journals, conducting a number of follow-up research projects that are being reviewed or planned to be published in S-level journals. Sungkyunkwan University runs 'SKKU-Fellowship' Program since 2004. It's the highest honor to our professors, which gives exceptional research support and honor by selecting best professors with world-class research skills or with high accessibility in each academic field. The Program target to improve research satisfaction so that professors with the highest level of research ability can generate world-class research results in quality by minimizing their duty to lecture and focusing on research. 2019 SKKU-Fellowship selected beneficiary from each academic field based on quality level of the research paper.

- Global Business Administration successfully celebrated 2019 1st Business Camp
- Global Business Administration hosted the 1st Business Camp in Las Vegas for 5 nights & 7 days from 2020.1.6 (Mon) to 2020.1.12 (Sun). The camp was organized by professor Shim Soo-Ok, a marketing professor and former CMO & Vice President of Samsung Electroninc. Led by Kim Young-Han, the President of Global Business Administration, 22 Global Business Administration student participated in the camp. Global Business Administration hosted first business camp, and unlike usual global camp, the business camp is co-operation project of company & school that proceed with both extracurricular & curriculum part. The 1st Business Camp worked together with CJ Livecity. Through visiting Consumer Elctoronic Show(CES), the participants learned what the global business world of new technologies is going to be like in the future by looking at the new hybrid products and prototypes that are being developed by high-tech home appliance companies, and tried to make strategy fit to our country's company with their lessons. For about three months prior to attending the CES, Students who were selected to participate in the business camp were given special session to discover sufficient Insight at the CES under the leading of professor Shim Soo-Ok, who is in charge of the project, and also they learned by expert and visited CJ Livecity office to get a multiple feedback, so they finally pull off assignment. The students of Global Business School says, "It was very valuable experience to got a chance to consider about our future career by looking new technologies which is soon commercialized, and to get training on VR/AR and 5G advance to particiapte in CES, we gained insight that our experiences can really create ideas that will generate revenue." They also says, "There were many boothes on the subject of smart farm at CES this year, and since we've been asking a lot of questions for 'What's the purpose of doing this? in our sessions with Professor Shim since October, no matter what booth we visited, we always wondered, 'What's the practice?'. So, since we conducted various data surveys on the smart farm, we able to get a satisfactory insight by having more in-depth talks with corporate officials. Global Business School will continue Business Camp, and provide opportunity to grow up to prepared global talent through learning new Business chance with self-problem solving in visiting new Global Business Center.

- Korea Investment Holdings’ Vice Chairman, Kim Joo-won heads to Kakao
- Kim Joo-won, vice chairman of Korea Investment Holdings Co., will assume the post of Kakao's new vice chairman. According to related industries, Kim will take office as vice chairman of Kakao in January 2020. Kim's sudden decision to move to the position was reportedly made by Kakao Chairman Kim Bum-soo's persistent recommendation. In particular, the inside story is known that Chairman Kim persuaded Vice Chairman Kim Nam-koo of Korea Investment Holdings Co. to ensure hiring him. New Vice Chairman Kim seemed to have decided to go to Kakao because he thought he could play an important role in mid- and long-term cooperation between the two companies, although he took rather negative stance about the transfer at the beginning of the offer. Vice Chairman Kim graduated from Sungkyunkwan University majored in business administration and was inaugurated as president of Korea Investment Holdings Corporation in 2011. While serving as chairman of Kakao Bank's board of directors since 2015, he has ranked as a leading figure who has started to merge IT with finance. He was recognized for his leadership when he played intermediary role between the technology-oriented IT industry and the money-oriented financial industry. Kim, who previously served as vice chairman of Korea Investment Holdings Corp. and chairman of Kakao Bank's board of directors, resigned from his position right after when Kakao Bank's largest shareholder changed from Korea Investment Group to Kakao. Vice Chairman Kim is Kakao Bank's vice chairman and chairman of the board of directors, and has been in charge of connecting Kakao Bank with Korea Investment Holdings Corp., a major shareholder of Kakao Bank. Kakao took over 16 percent of its 50 percent stake in Korea Investment Holdings Corp., which was formerly a major shareholder, on April 22, raising it to 34 percent of Kakao Bank's largest shareholder.

- Samsung Electronics announced the '2020 Regular Presidents' Greetings' on the 20th, including four president promotions and five changes in commissioning duties. - The Sungkyunkwan University Business School Alumni Association said, “The 10th Proud Business School Alumni Award” will be held at Dynasty Hall at the Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel on August 8 (Wed). The Proud of Business School Alumni Award is given to alumni who contributed to the development of their alma mater and business school. - On December 7 (Saturday), the International Pavilion 109 hosted the IMBA and the Link Project Team of Sungkyunkwan University, and the IMBA hosted the IMBA hosted the Sungkyunkwan University Graduate School Students' Competition for the entrepreneurship contest. The judges were Song Eun-gang (Capstone Partners Representative), Lee Jong-hoon (Hanyang University Doctor of Technology Management/Lotte Exeller) The director of investment at the investment department of the radar, and Chung Jin-dong (representative of Kinggo Spring). The team that entered the finals had a total of four teams (Doctor Pillow/PROTEIOS/Marriage bustling (Marriage Pup)/Post-fit) and had a question and answer time for 15 minutes each team.Professor Kim Jong-wook (head of the IMBA department) who attended the meeting said, "I am grateful that many graduate students, including IMBA, show their enthusiasm for start-up and hope that they will continue to be interested in start-up.“ The winners of the Graduate School of Business were Jeong Jin-hwan, Cha Seung-joon, Kwak Jin-woo, Lee Jae-cheol and Kim Jong-moon, who are currently in the 31st phase of the Global Business Administration Department of the Graduate School of Business (IMBA).The Excellence Prize was awarded to Post-Fit (Jang Yeon-ju, Kim Eung-soo (Second Master)/International Graduate School Interaction Science Department), Encouragement Prize to 2 teams, Doctor Pillow (Lee Won-hwa (33rd Generation)/IMBA), and PROTEIOS (Jung Jae-hoon, Kim Moon-jung, Choi Chun-sam, Kim Dong-hyun/IMBA 33rd Generation).
