Business School held the 3rd Job Academic Ceremony with senior employment in five fields.
Business School of SungKyunKwan University held the 3rd Job Academic Ceremony, a lecture event related to employment by graduates for five days from October 27, 28, and November 2 to 4. The event was prepared for students who want to communicate with school members due to COVID-19, to have a chance to meet with seniors and students and obtain related TIPs from seniors who got a job. It was divided into five areas depending on the jobs of the seniors : IT/Distribution/trade, public sector, financial sector, accountant/consulting, manufacturing, etc.
<Job Academic Knowledge(Jobhakdasik)> was held offline (lecture room) and online (webex simultaneous transmission considering the COVID-19 situation. For five days, 41 offline and 123 online participated in the event.
Seniors prepared job introductions, job processes, and advice for students. They emphasized that “It is necessary to be able to connect their own experiences like their specifications and stories.” rather than self-introduction letters listed only as specifications. They also explained their own CPA test experience to find employment secrets for accounting firms.
Although not all students could be invited to the classroom due to the COVID-19 special situation, a separate monitor was installed on one side of the classroom so that both online participating students and seniors. Through this monitor, the lecturer was able to communicate with the faces of the students participating online. Even during the Q&A session, students who participated online turned on the speaker and talked directly to their seniors through the monitor. Also, they left questions in the chatting, the senior could check the questions through the monitor and answer them immediately.
The seniors, who are lecturers, said, “It was a good experience to look back on their student years and job search, and I want to participate again if I have a chance next time.” Business School will continue to develop "Job Academic Knowledge(Jobhakdasik)" in various forms such as “Find a Senior” to strengthen the sense of belonging of business students. And it plans to continue various efforts to take pride in being a “Executive of Sungkyunkwan” even after entering society.
