The Scholarly Achievement Award, which is awarded to the authors of the papers with the highest academic excellence and achievement every year, is awarded to authors of papers that have achieved outstanding results by comprehensively considering the development of conceptual/empirical theories, creation of new knowledge, and practical implications.
Professor Kim published a paper titled 「An examination of the relationship between applicant race and accrued recruitment source information: Implications for applicant withdrawal and test performance」 at the Academy of Management(AOM)
This research paper theorizes what kind of difference occurs in the use of job search information sources(official job advertisements, homepage information, and social networks within the company) according to social/racial majority and minority groups when corporate applicants use job search information(salary, corporate culture, recruitment process), and how it can affect applicants' hiring performance(applicant's attractiveness to the organization, withdrawal of support, applicant's selection test results during the selection process), and empirical research was conducted using data from U.S. firefighter applicants. Therefore, this study attempted to contribute to the recruitment and selection literature in personnel management research.
Professor Kim said, "I am very honored to receive the Academic Achievement Award at the AOM Society, and I will try to become a researcher who does better research in the future" and added, "I thank everyone who helped me develop this paper."
