This course examines various sustainability issues that have emerged as interest in supply chain social responsibility increases. The supply chain is a network of organizations to provide a product or service. Recently. the supply chain, in which various stakeholders are intertwined, is required to operate while respecting ethical and social values. In this course, various strategies for operating a sustainable supply chain fulfilling these social responsibilities are examined through theories and cases.

This course introduces basic theories on macro economics including aggregate demand, aggregate supply, short-term and long-term equilibrium, fiscal policy, and monetary policy. It also deals with interpretation and analysis of macro economic indicators.

This course covers theories and practices of financial intermediation. Covered in the course are topics including the roles and structures of financial markets, various types of financial intermediaries (e.g., commercial banks, investment banks, stock brokerage firms and fund companies, insurance firms, and credit card firms) as well as management of these firms (liquidity management, interest rate risk, credit risk etc.).

This workshop course offers students opportunities to experience real-time trading of stocks, bonds, foreign currencies, options and futures using simulation trading programs. With the help of the professor and teaching assistants, students learn how to apply various trading techniques including technical analysis.

Finance is the field in which information is the key ingredient in making money. So, the financial institutions have always been adopting the cutting-edge information technologies in their competition for centuries. The recent innovation in information technology has been so dramatic that it has been reshaping the whole financial industry to be called “FinTech”. What we plan to cover in this class is inclusive of the following issues: (1) what is crowd funding? (2) what is robo-advisor where Big Data is intensively used? (3) What is Bit Coin and why are people so much excited about Block Chain? We will learn the theoretical background as well as practical application of FinTech.

This course provides basic statistical knowledge needed for studying finance courses offered later in the program. Topics such as probabilities, probability distribution, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and basic time-series analysis will be covered.
